Derby Night
Something each cadet looks forward to… the annual Cadet Derby Night! This is a church wide event, celebrating the Cadets hard work.
The 2026-2027 theme is Mountains of Blessings.
There is something inspiring about mountains. They rise above the landscape, standing firm through storms, seasons, and centuries. They remind us of God’s power, His faithfulness, and His unchanging presence. For generations, people have looked to the mountains and been reminded that God is greater than any challenge they face.
Based on Psalm 125:2, this year’s theme points boys to the incredible truth that God surrounds His people with His love, protection, and care. Throughout Scripture, mountains often serve as places where God’s presence is revealed. From Mount Sinai to Mount Zion, from Elijah’s encounter with God to Jesus’ teaching on the mountainside, God repeatedly used these high places to remind His people of His power and promises. Psalm 125 reminds us that the Lord surrounds His people, just as the mountains surround Jerusalem.

The goal of the Cadet program is to provide boys with programming, structure, and materials that are uniquely designed to help them grow spiritually in all areas of life—devotional, mental, physical, and social. Please pray with us as we help boys learn what it means to embody the Cadet motto: "Living for Jesus."
Our Cadet program takes a more relaxed approach than traditional models you might remember. Instead of uniforms with button-down shirts, scarves, and badges, our boys wear Cadet t-shirts and participate in a lesson and hands-on project at each meeting. While we focus less on formality, we still value consistency—boys who regularly wear their t-shirts and participate throughout the year receive a small gift at the end of the season.
